Iron Man Figure for Poser coming
A few weeks back, an individual from the CGI community by the nickname Zikeo released a CGI figure, named Armor X, entirely built from scratch, in Carrara.
People loved it. It nearly resembled the Iron Man costume from the movie, and I'm assuming the current comic book incarnation, to a T. There was only one small problem - Not everyone uses Carrara in the hobby community that is CGI. Those with modeling talents don't bother with programs like Poser, since they get much better quality and versatility out of Carrara, and they can make what they need, rather than buying it from vendors, or downloading freebies.
Zikeo made Armor X available freely to the community. But knowing that the hobbyists that use either programs such as the free software Daz Studio or the more popular Poser, Zikeo chose to release a Daz Studio version for everyone, again, freely. Since he himself does not use Poser, and wasn't going to go spend the money just to release a freebie, he chose Daz Studio as the way to distribute.
But again, many don't use D|S. It has it's merits, and I have used it myself on occasion, as it has tight integration with other 3D applications, it is nowhere near as versatile as Poser.
Many asked, and received, permission to attempt to modify the Daz Studio and Carrara versions for use with Poser, myself included.
Im not currently aware what the status of everyone else is when it comes to completion of their work. For myself, mine is just a few hours away.
It will consist of a multi-package download.
- 1x download for a full 1-piece file, completely UV Mapped, wired to accept all Michael 3 poses
- 1x download for a three -piece conforming outfit that can be parented to Mike 3, for those looking for a little more versatility in their renders (removing parts of the armor to show the human person beneath etc)
- 1x download for a full set of parented props of each individual armor piece, again, to ad more flexibility in the art and use of the files
- 1x download for all UV Map templates.
So without further adieu, I will return to finishing off the file. You can visit my gallery over at Animotions to see the progress and sample renders if interested.
And keep looking here for release details. It will be here before you blink.
